About Me
I am a student, a believer, an idealist, contrarian, strategist, and organizer. I have a passion for life, friends, family and information. I will be entering my senior year at the University of San Francisco where I major in Finance and minor in Economics. I am a busy body who enjoys new experiences. I love discussion and anyone with a passion for something.
Where I’m From
I was born and raised in the City of Roses, otherwise known as Portland, OR. I loved to play with legos, play Sim City, and various strategic boardgames including Axis & Allies.
I attended Ulysses S. Grant High School in Northeast Portland where I participated in a number of activities including Lacrosse, Football and One Acts (where I was once cast as Marlon Brandow in A Street Car Named Desire)
I enjoyed my formative years and attribute much of my understanding of different cultures and acceptance of everyone to the diverse background of my early teens. I learned about hard work from my dad, perseverance from my mom, and the lessons of life from my younger brother. I rode my bike to my friends houses until I could drive. I mowed my Gradma’s lawn every week and read the sports page every day.
Why USF?
I visted USF like I visted the others schools that I was targeting. I came for a weekend. I stayed at a Youth Hostel off of Van Ness and showed up during an “admitted stutedent” weekend.
I knew USF was the place for me when I saw a girl explaining the days events to her dad in Spanish. I had already visited a couple of private universities in Southern California and had come away with the same feeling, everyone was the same. USF was different, it gave me that feeling, I got the vibe, this was the place for me. Today my roommates hometowns include what I consider a great representation of the university (Syracuse, New York, Bangalore, India, Salinas, California and across the bridge in Marin County)
College Life
My experience may both seem at odds to many of my classmates and similarly relateable. I like to have a good time but I like to get good grades. I love going to Golden Gate Park in addition to exploring the multitude of restaurants and bars scattered around the city. I take courses because of the Professor and not simply to get the credits.
I work to pay for my room & board, cell phone and life accesories (I am not so good at cleaning out the closet). I am involved on campus because I like to have a voice that is heard. If you have been in one of my classes, been to an event or lecture, or picked up the weekly Foghorn, you probably realize that I am an outspoken individual.
